Renewal agreement: Effective Feb. 16, 2017, to Feb. 15, 2020. Signed on Feb. 16, 2017.
Shift premium: $0.25 per hour for employees working on headframe. $0.70 per hour for employees working on afternoon shift; $0.85 per hour for employees working on the midnight shift. Effective Feb. 16, 2019: $0.75 per hour for afternoon shift; $0.90 per hour for midnight shift. $0.65 per hour for work performed below surface. $0.40 per hour for all hours assigned as trainer of other employees.
Paid holidays: 14 days plus employee’s birthday 
Vacations with pay: 1/12 of regular pay per month or 4% of total gross pay, whichever is greater (plus equivalent time off) to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 12 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 20 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 25 years. 
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work in excess of 8 in any 24-hour period, excluding Sunday. Time and one-half for all work on Saturday, double time for Sunday. 
Meal allowance: $10 if employee works more than 10 hours in 1 shift. 
Medical benefits: Green Shield pay direct drug plan 65 ($1 co-pay with product selection).
Dental: Green Shield dental plan 74. 100% for basic services, 100% for comprehensive basic services, 50% for major restorative services, 50% for orthodontic services.
Vision: $325 every 24 months. Eye examinations, maximum $95 every 12 months.
Paramedical: Maximum  of $450 per year for physiotherapist, speech therapist, pathologist, clinical psychologist, chiropractic, registered massage therapist (medical referral required).
STD: 66 2/3% of regular wages, maximum 20 weeks. After 1 year of service: $260 per week or 80% of regular wages, whichever is greater, maximum 26 weeks and 50% of regular wages for further maximum 26 weeks.
LTD: $2,700 per month.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums for all active members of mine-rescue team, maximum of 20 persons, for coverage of $65,000.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for all active members of mine-rescue team, maximum of 20 persons for coverage of $65,000. Coverage of $51,000 for all non-skilled-trades employees and skilled-trades employees. Employer will pay premium on $49,500 of face value of policy. 
Pension: K+S Windsor Salt Ltd. Employees’ Pension Plan. Employee may elect to make optional contributions of maximum 2% of employee’s compensation to DC plan. Employer will contribute 50% of employee’s contribution, maximum 1%.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of child, current spouse, stepchild of current spouse, parent, stepparent, parent, stepparent of current spouse. 3 days for death of brother, stepbrother, sister, stepsister, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandchild, grandchild of current spouse. 1 day for death of aunt, uncle, grandparents, aunt, uncle, grandparents of current spouse.
Seniority – recall rights: 36 months or period equal to accumulated seniority, whichever is greater.
Call-in pay: Time and one-half for work on Monday to Saturday, double time for work on Sunday or maximum 3 hours at straight-time rate, whichever is greater. 
Probationary period: 600 straight-time hours (exclusive of overtime hours) during any 12-month period.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for counselling, verbal or written warnings, 24 months for prior infractions.
Safety shoes: $210 per year (previously $205 per year). Effective Feb. 16, 2019: $215 per year. Employer will provide surface-maintenance employees 1 pair of winter boots during term of collective agreement.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will pay full cost of miners’ belts, hard hats and hearing protection required. Employer will provide waterproof coveralls for employees engaged in mixing blue treatment and mucking in sump; regular coveralls for powdermen, permanent undercutter operators, permanent jumbo operators, employees engaged in excavation work in new underground construction, roof-bolt drilling, jack-leg drilling, fuelers, oilers, greasers. Employer will provide skilled-trade employees in surface-maintenance department with 1 winter coat per year. Employer will provide shaft mechanics with 1 winter coat during term of collective agreement. Employer will provide 9-pair cycle for all classified skilled-trades employees.
Tool allowance: Employer will supply metric, specialized tools for use by skilled-trades employees when required.

Editor’s notes: Education fund: Employer will submit $0.02 per hour per employee for all hours worked to Unifor Paid Educational Leave Training Program. Licences: $150 per year per person for skilled-trades licenses required in performance of duties. Training hours: Employer will provide minimum of 6,500 hours of training per year (exclusive of common-core training). Up to 640 hours of this training will be offered to non-skilled maintenance employees to train in another department.
