KS Zyp employees in Wardsville, Ont., approve new collective agreement

Increases to wages, pension contributions, health benefits: CLAC

Employees of KS Zyp, a concrete forming contractor based out of Wardsville, Ont., working primarily in the Region of Waterloo, unanimously approved a renewal of their collective agreement on March 29.

Employees voted in favour of accepting the three-year contract negotiated on their behalf by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 53.

“We had positive and productive discussion at the bargaining table, which led to an agreement that benefits all involved,” said Ryan Griffioen, CLAC representative. “The workers passed it with a huge stamp of approval.”

The settlement provides employees with increases to their monetary package including wages, pension contributions, travel provisions and employer-paid health benefits funding, said the union.
