Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2017, to Dec. 31, 2021. Signed on Feb. 27, 2017.
Wage adjustments: 
Effective Jan, 1, 2017: 1.5%
Effective Jan, 1, 2018: 1.5%
Effective Jan, 1, 2019: 1.5%
Effective Jan, 1, 2020: 1.5%
Effective Jan, 1, 2021: 1.5%
Shift premium: $1.50 per hour for working afternoon and graveyard shifts. $1 per hour for employee who holds level 3 first-aid ticket and is designated as first-aid person.
Paid holidays: 14 days.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 3 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 8 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 17 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 25 years. 
Overtime: Time and one-half for first 2 hours of overtime, double time thereafter. Time and one-half for first 10 hours on Saturday, double time thereafter.
Meal allowance: $15 when employee works more than 2 hours after regular shift. Will be repeated at every 4-hour interval after first time redeemed.
Dental: Reimbursement of 100% for basic, 80% for major restorative (maximum $2,000 per year), 50% for orthodontics (maximum $2,500 per lifetime), 100% for accidental dental injury.
Vision: $100 every 24 months for eye exams. $300 every 24 months for glasses.
Paramedical: 100% reimbursement, maximum $450 per year for acupuncture, chiropractic, podiatrist, massage therapist, naturopath, osteopath, psychologist, physiotherapist, speech therapist, audiologist.
Sick leave: 6 days after each year of service.
LTD: Coverage of $1,600 per month after 52-week waiting period. 
AD&D: Coverage of $40,000.
Life insurance: Coverage of $40,000.
Pension: Employer will contribute $4.70 per hour to the Operating Engineers Pension Plan. Effective Jan. 1, 2018: $4.90. Effective Jan. 1, 2019: $5.10. Effective Jan. 1, 2020: $5.30. Effective Jan. 1, 2021: $5.50.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, son, daughter, mother, father, brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandmother, grandfather).
Seniority – recall rights: 6 months with less than 1 year of seniority, 12 months with more than 1 year of seniority. 
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay at overtime rate.
Probationary period: 60 working days or 120 calendar days, whichever comes first.
Severance: 1 week’s pay for each year of service, after employee reaches 5 years of service.
Safety shoes: Employer will supply safety toe caps for employees.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply coveralls, if requested. Employees will have at least 3 changes per week supplied by employer. Maintenance workers will receive extra coveralls as needed. Employer will supply gloves, personal protective equipment when required. Employer will supply welding gloves to welders. Employer will supply raingear when required. Employer will provide tool and tool box insurance coverage for theft or fire for journeyman, apprentices. 
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 6% increase):
Foreman: $41.60 rising 4 steps to $44.25
Mechanical leadhand: $41.10 rising 4 steps to $43.70
Mechanical/electrician: $39.45 rising 4 steps to $41.90
Welder: $39.45 rising 4 steps to $41.90
Operator: $37.50 rising 4 steps to $39.80
Quality control technician: $37.30 rising 4 steps to $39.60
Labourer: $32.85 rising 4 steps to $34.80
Editor’s notes: Safety bonus: $0.30 per hour, distributed twice per year, to employees not losing time due to injury.
