Unifor, Local 1256 members working at Marmon Keystone in Burlington, Ont. voted 100 per cent in favour of ratifying a new three-year collective agreement on July 22.

“This agreement has gone beyond what we had initially hoped for at the start of bargaining and shows our collective bargaining strength as a union,” says Angus MacDonald, Unifor Local 1256 president.

The new contract includes annual wage increases, signing bonus, improved benefits and strengthened language in the collective agreement, says the union.

In addition, the bargaining committee negotiated domestic-violence leave language that was taken away by the Ford government, says Unifor.

Unifor, Local 1256 represents production workers at the plant.
