Renewal agreement: Effective Nov. 1, 2017, to Oct. 31, 2020. Signed on Feb. 21, 2017.
Wage adjustments: 
Effective Nov. 1, 2017: 2%
Effective Nov. 1, 2018: 2%
Effective Nov. 1, 2019: 2%
Shift premium: $1 for lead-hands. $0.60 per hour for scheduled work performed on second and third shifts.
Paid holidays: 9 days, after 30 days of service, plus 4 floater holidays. 
Vacations with pay: 1 week or 4% after 6 months, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 18 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 26 years. 
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work in excess of standard work-week (40 hours) or standard work-day (8 hours) or on Saturday. Double time for all work on Sunday.
Meal allowance: $9 (previously $8) for employees who work minimum of two hours’ overtime continuous with regular shift. Additional meal allowance after 5 more hours (previously 7 more hours) of overtime. 
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. $1,350 per person (previously $1,250 per person) per year maximum coverage. 
Vision: $170 per person (previously $160) per 24-month period. 
Weekly indemnity: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of employee’s weekly basic earnings that are insurable under Employment Insurance Act.
LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 55% of earnings, maximum $2,000 per month (previously $1,950 per month). 
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $43,000 (previously $42,000).
Pension: Employees hired before Dec. 13, 2014, will eligible for Masterfeeds LP Defined Benefit Plan. Employees hired after Dec. 13, 2014, will eligible for Masterfeeds LP Defined Contribution Plan.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, son, daughter, mother, father. 3 days for death of brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law. 1 day for death of spouse’s grandparents.
Seniority – recall rights: 24 months after 3 years of seniority; 12 months with less than 3 years of seniority. 
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay at time and one-half regular straight-time rate.
Probationary period: 45 days, accumulated over 6 consecutive months. 
Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years.
Severance: 1 week’s pay for each complete year of service.
Safety shoes: $170 per year for 1 pair of CSA-approved work boots. Employer will supply 1 pair of safety rubber boots per person which must remain at plant.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide 2 summer coveralls or 2 pants/shirts, 1 pair of insulated winter coveralls.
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 4% increase):
Maintenance person, senior: $25.85 rising 2 steps to $26.90
Maintenance person, junior: $23.79 rising 2 steps to $24.75
Mill operator A: $23.70 rising 2 steps to $24.65
Mill operator B: $22.54 rising 2 steps to $23.45
Mill operator C: $21.36 rising 2 steps to $22.23
Clerk 1: $25.74 rising 2 steps to $26.78
Clerk 2: $25.74 rising 2 steps to $26.78
Casual/student/probationary rate: $2 per hour below rate for position
Editor’s notes: Paid education leave: Employer will pay $500 per year into Unifor Paid Education Leave program.
