Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2016, to April 30, 2019. Signed on May 4, 2016.
Wage adjustments: 
Effective June 19, 2016: 1.25%
Effective May 1, 2017: 1.25%
Effective May 1, 2018: 1.25%
Shift premium: $1 per hour for work between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. $1 per hour for all work on a weekend.
Paid holidays: 12 days 
Vacations with pay: 1.25 days per month to start, 15 days after 1 year, 20 days after 4 years, 21 days after 14 years, 22 days after 15 years, 23 days after 16 years, 24 days after 17 years, 25 days after 18 years, 30 days after 30 years. 
Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked after 7, 7.5 or 8 hours per day, or 35, 37.5 or 40 hours per week. 
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for extended healthcare plan.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Vision: $250 every 2 years.
LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums
Pension: Pension Plan for Employees of McMaster University.
Bereavement leave: 7 days for death of spouse, son, daughter, spouse’s child, stepchild, ward, brother, sister, father, mother. 5 days for death of father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchild, grandmother, grandfather, spouse’s grandparent, stepmother, stepfather.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay at time and one-half.
Probationary period: 6 months. 
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months.
Safety shoes: $140 per year (previously $120 per year).

Editor’s notes: Social justice fund: The employer will contribute $0.02 per hour per employee to the Unifor Social Justice Fund. Prescription safety glasses: $250 every 2 years. National Day of Mourning: Each year on April 28, 1 minute of silence will be observed in memory of workers killed or injured on the job. Remembrance Day: The employer will allow employees 2 minutes of silence at 11 a.m. on Remembrance Day each year. Hearing aid: 75% of the cost, maximum $1,000 per ear once every three years.
