Provincewide, Manitoba (1,200 clerical staff) and Unifor Local 7

Renewal agreement: Effective Dec. 20, 2016, to Dec. 19, 2019. Signed on March 17, 2017.
Wage adjustments: 
Effective Dec. 20, 2016: 1.5%
Effective Dec. 20, 2017: 2%
Effective Dec. 20, 2018: 2%
Shift premium: $1.25 per hour for time worked between 6 p.m. and 7 a.m. $1.25 per hour for employee assigned as charge hand. $1.25 per hour for time worked on Saturday.
Paid holidays: 12 days. 
Vacations with pay: 0.19 of a day per week to start, 3 weeks after 2 years, 4 weeks after 6 years, 5 weeks after 14 years, 6 weeks after 21 years, 7 weeks after 34 years. Employees receiving remoteness allowance will receive 2 extra vacation days with road access, 1 week if no road access is available. 
Overtime: Double time for all extra hours worked. May be taken as time off. 
Vision: $80 for 1 eye exam every 24 months.
Sick leave: After 3 months’ service: 3 days per year; next 6 months: 6 days per year; after 2 years’ service: 12 days per year; after 5 years’ service: 21 days per year; after 6 years’ service: 22 days per year.
Bereavement leave: 3 days or 1 week in exceptional circumstances for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law partner, father, mother, spouse or common-law partner of father or mother, children, children of employee’s spouse or common-law partner, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandfather, grandmother, father and mother of spouse or common-law partner, spouse or common-law partner of father or mother, any relative who resides with employee.
Seniority – recall rights: 2 years. 
Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours’ pay at overtime rate.
Probationary period: 6 months. 
Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years.
Severance: 1 week’s pay per year of service for first 5 years, 2 weeks thereafter, maximum 35 weeks.
Tool allowance: Employer will provide and replace all needed tools.
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 4% increase):
Clerical (grades 1, 2, 3)
Step 1: $16.62 rising 2 steps to $17.30
Step 2: $17.04 rising 2 steps to $17.73
Step 3: $17.50 rising 2 steps to $18.20
Step 4: $17.94 rising 2 steps to $18.67
Step 5: $18.41 rising 2 steps to $19.16
Step 6: $19.42 rising 2 steps to $20.20
Step 7: $19.92 rising 2 steps to $20.73
Editor’s notes: Board and lodging: When employee travels for MTS-related course and must stay overnight, meals will be paid for: $11.15 for breakfast (previously $10.60), $16 for lunch (previously $15.25), $23.65 for supper (previously $22.55), $8.15 for incidentals (previously $7.75). Employee will also receive subsistence allowance of $50. Northern retention premium: 5% of regular wages for employees permanently living north of 53rd parallel.
