NAPE certified to represent workers with Collin’s Ambulance Service

Contract quickly negotiated, voted on, signed by employees: Union

Within the course of a few months, the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE) was certified by the Newfoundland and Labrador labour relations board as the bargaining agent for workers with Collin’s Ambulance Service in Burin, N.L., and it successfully negotiated an agreement on March 21 with the employer which was accepted unanimously.

About 12 employees work at Collin’s which services the Burin Peninsula and is a contracted service provider with Eastern Health, said the union.

“Once workers voted to join our union, our team immediately went to work to negotiate a very good first collective agreement for this group,” said Jerry Earle, NAPE president.
