Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2016, to Dec. 31, 2016. Signed on Nov. 19, 2015.

Shift premium: 75¢ per hour for lead hands. Double time for work during “cold weather”, defined as below -19 degrees Celsius.

Paid holidays: 11 days. Time and one-half for first 8 hours worked on a named holiday, double time for all hours worked beyond 8.

Vacations with pay: 3 weeks to start, 4 weeks after 5 years, 5 weeks after 10 years.

Overtime: Time and one-half for first 4 hours worked in excess of 8 per day, double time for all hours worked beyond that.

Dental: 100% coverage for basic services, 50% coverage for secondary plan. Up to $2,500 per person per year.

Vision: $500 every 2 years. Up to $100 every year for sunglasses.

Paramedical: Up to $500 per year for each of any practitioner including chiropractor, osteopath, podiatrist or naturopath.

Sick leave: Half-day earned per month worked.

AD&D: $45,000.

Life insurance: $45,000.

Pension: Employees become eligible after 1 year of service. No other details available.

Bereavement leave: 5 days for immediate family, up to 7 days if funeral is outside Yukon. Immediate family includes spouse, common-law spouse, mother, father, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, mother-in-law, father-in-law, employee’s grandparents and legal guardian.

Seniority – recall rights: 3 months for employees with less than 12 months seniority, 6 months for employees with at least 1 year of service, 1 year for employees with more than 2 years of service.

Probationary period: 3 months.

Safety shoes: Up to $200 for steel-toed boots.

Uniforms/clothing: 1 summer jacket, 1 winter jacket provided. Coveralls, rubber aprons, smocks, gloves, rubber boots, hard hats, safety glasses provided when necessary. 3 pairs of coveralls, 1 pair of winter coveralls for plant operators and drivers.

Editor’s notes: Travel allowance: $2,100 per year for employees with at least 1 year of service. Additional $150 per year for employees living in Watson Lake or Dawson City for travel costs.
