Unifor — representing school bus drivers at the Limestone District School Board, the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic School Board and Tri-Board Student Transportation in Ontario —reached a tentative agreement with First Student bus company on April 27.

"The bargaining committee is pleased that a tentative agreement has been reached that follows the pattern that Unifor has set, which is helping to raise standards for school bus drivers across the province," said Andy Desjardin, president of Unifor Local 4266.

The new tentative agreement will cover 55 school bus drivers and is set to expire June 30, 2020, said the union.

The tentative agreement includes significant increases which address the concerns of the workers. Details of the collective agreement will be released upon ratification, which will take place over the next few days, according to Unifor.
