Renewal agreement: Effective Feb. 1, 2022 to Jan. 31, 2024. Signed on Dec. 14, 2021.

Shift premium: $0.50 per hour for steward w/ tool box 1. $0.75 per hour for steward w/ tool box 2. $1 per hour for steward w/ tool box 3. $1.75 per hour for night shift (for all hours worked when 50% or more of scheduled shift falls between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.).

Paid holidays: 11 days.

Vacations with pay: 6% of regular earnings as vacation pay. Employer will consider vacations at times requested by employees, subject to business requirements.

Overtime: Time and one-half for work after 9 or 10 hours per day or 44 hours per week.

Meal allowance: Additional one half-hour of pay (if meal is not provided) or meal will be provided for employees who work beyond 12 hours in 1 day.

Medical benefits: Employer will contribute $1.40 per hour into health and welfare plan.

Pension: Employer will contribute 3% of employee’s base wage rate, for all hours worked, to union-sponsored group RSP or union-sponsored pension plan for each employee, for each hour worked. Employer will contribute additional 1% of employee’s base wage rate, for all hours worked, to either RSP plan or pension plan for each employee who elects to contribute at least 1% of base wage rate to either plan.

Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of employee’s spouse, common-law spouse, children, legal dependants, siblings, parents, employee’s spouse’s children, legal dependents, siblings, parents. 1 day leave for death of grandchildren, grandparents of employee or spouse (additional time off, without pay, may be given, if requested by employee).

Probationary period: 90 calendar days. Employees who have passed probationary period and are rehired within 6 months after layoff will not have to re-serve new probationary period.

Safety shoes: $150 once per year (previously $125 once per year) for employees who have completed 1,850 hours of work.

Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide CSA-approved safety hats and non-prescription safety glasses. Employer will supply employees with personal protective equipment including : gloves, hearing protection, safety glasses, shields, goggles, fire-retardant coveralls, raingear, particulate masks, breathing apparatus, fall-arrest equipment.

Tool allowance: All tradespersons will supply own tools common to their trade. Power tools and equipment and other specialty tools will be provided by employer.

Mileage: $0.58 per kilometre (previously $0.50 per kilometre) when agreement is made between employer and employee to use personal vehicle to perform work duties for employer.

Editor’s notes: Allowances: For work away from base of operations (Edmonton, Calgary, regular job site), accommodation will be provided at no cost to employee and meal allowance of $50 per day worked or live-out allowance of $110 per day worked inclusive of all accommodations costs. Union-management meetings: $25 flat fee to each committee member for each meeting attended when union-management meetings are held outside of regular working hours.
