Pepsi workers in Brandon, Man., ratify new contract

Deal includes wage increase, $500 signing bonus: UFCW

Employees working at the Pepsi plant in Brandon, Man., voted unanimously in favour of a new collective agreement on Nov. 3.

About 90 per cent of the United Food and Commercial Workers Canada (UFCW), Local 832 attended the ratification vote, held on Nov. 1.

Under the three-year contract, employees will see their wages increase by $1.35 per hour over the next three years. Members will also receive a $500 signing bonus, said the union.

As well, the union negotiating committee was successful in obtaining increases to the safety-footwear allowance, improvements to bereavement leave and vacation payout for up to two weeks, according to UFCW.
