The largest auto dealership in Thunder Bay, Ont., Pinewood Ford ratified a new collective agreement on July 31 with International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Local Lodge 1120.

The three-year agreement provides wage increases of 2.5 per cent in the first year, 2.5 per cent in the second year and three per cent in the third year for all schedule A classification employees including technicians, body men and painters. They will also receive an eight per cent increase in their IAM pension plan over the life of the agreement, said the union.

Parts personnel, shippers and receivers will receive wage increases of two per cent in each year and an eight per cent increase in their IAM pension plan over the life of the agreement. Installers will receive wage increases of 2.5 per cent in the first year, 2.5 per cent in the second year and three per cent in the third year. They will receive an eight per cent increase in their IAM pension plan over the life of the agreement, according to IAM.

Schedule C classifications or general helpers will receive a $0.75 an hour wage increase upon ratification and wage increases of 2.5 per cent in the second and third year respectively. They will also receive IAM pension plan increases of 2.5 per cent in the second year and three per cent in the third year, said the union.

The 52 workers include technicians, body men, painters, parts personnel, shippers and receivers, installers and general helpers.
