Renewal agreement: Effective Dec. 1, 2018, to Nov. 30, 2022. Signed on Nov. 2, 2018. 
Wage adjustments: 
Effective Dec. 1, 2018: 3%
Effective Dec. 1, 2019: 2%
Effective Dec. 1, 2020: 2%
Effective Dec. 1, 2021: 1%
Paid holidays: 10 days. 
Vacations with pay: 84 hours after 1 year, 120 hours after 5 years, 156 hours after 10 years, 204 hours after 20 years. May be carried over to following year, maximum 24 hours. 
Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked in excess of regular scheduled hours. May be banked, maximum 48 hours, and can be carried over for 1 year. Double time for all work on second and subsequent days of rest.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 60% of premiums, employee pays 40% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.
Sick leave: 18 hours per month of service, maximum 600 hours.
LTD: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums for coverage of 70% of regular pay.
Pension: Employer will match employee contributions, maximum 5.25%, to employer-provide pension plan. 
Bereavement leave: 2 shifts for death in immediate family (spouse, parent, child, sister, brother, grandparent, grandchild, parent-in-law, some other relative or person with whom employee has experienced very close relationship ordinarily ascribed to that of immediate family member). Employer may grant additional unpaid bereavement leave. 1 shift without pay to attend funeral as pallbearer where deceased is not member of employee’s immediate family.
Seniority – recall rights: 24 months. 
Probationary period: 12 months. 
Discipline: Sunset clause is 30 months.
Safety shoes: $300 (previously $200) for CSA-approved safety footwear.
Uniforms/clothing: Each new employee will receive new uniforms upon commencement of employment. After 12 months of service, employees will be issued with dress uniform consisting of pants, shirt, tunic, cap with badge. Such uniform shall be issued on 1-time basis and will not be replaced.
Sample rates of annual pay (current, after 8.2% increase):
Captain: $101,469.43 rising 4 steps to $109,823.22
Lieutenant: $91,295.19 rising 4 steps to $98,811.35
Firefighter 3: $85,513.24 rising 4 steps to $92,553.38
Firefighter 2: $82,957.27 rising 4 steps to $89,786.99
Firefighter 1: $80,376.49 rising 4 steps to $86,993.74
Editor’s notes: Meal breaks: Employees must remain on work premises during unpaid meal break. As compensation for this captive time, each employee will be entitled to take 6 shifts of leave with pay per year. Personal day: 1 personal leave day with pay during year following anniversary of date of hire.
