Purolator, Teamsters sign new collective agreement

Purolator and Teamsters Canada ratified a new five-year collective agreement April 28.

"The new agreement provides for long-term operational stability, recognizes the value our employees bring to our customers and allows Purolator to address the fundamental business realities of today's changing marketplace," said John Ferguson, president and CEO, Purolator.  

The majority of Purolator's frontline operations employees are members of the Teamsters Union, whose previous collective agreement expired on Dec. 31, 2016.

The agreement protects the defined benefit pension plan, prevents contracting out work, and provides an eight per cent raise, according to Teamsters
