Renewal agreement: Effective March 24, 2013, to March 19, 2016. Signed on Mary 13, 2013. Wage adjustments: Effective March 24, 2013: 3% Effective March 23, 2014: 3% Effective March 22, 2015: 3% Shift premium: $1.05 per hour for all time worked during the evening shift. $1 per hour for all time worked during the night shift. Time and one-quarter the dayshift hourly base rate for the first 8 hours worked on an emergency shift. Time and onehalf for all subsequent hours worked on an emergency shift. Paid holidays: 12 days and 1 floater day. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 3 years, 3 weeks and 1 day after 5 years, 4 weeks after 9 years, 4 weeks and 1 day after 10 years, 4 weeks and 2 days after 12 years, 4 weeks and 3 days after 14 years, 4 weeks and 4 days after 16 years, 5 weeks after 18 years, 5 weeks and 1 day after 20 years, 6 weeks after 25 years. Overtime: Time and threefourths for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week for day or evening shifts, in excess of 34 hours per week for night shifts and in excess of 30 hours per week for weekend shifts. Time and three-fourths for all hours worked on a statutory holiday. Meal allowance: $10 meal ticket after 1 hour of overtime. Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums for routine treatments to a maximum of $1,350 per employee and per dependant per year. 1 dental exam reimbursed every 9 months. Employer pays 80% of premiums for major treatments to a maximum of $2,500 per year. Employer pays 75% of premiums for orthodontic treatments to a lifetime maximum of $2,500. Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums for 1 eye exam per year. Up to $400 every 2 years for glasses and contact lenses. LTD: Mandatory after proba- tion. Employees with less than 5 years’ seniority pay 50% of pre- miums. Employees with more than 5 years of seniority pay $4 per pay period. Employees on LTD will be paid 70% of their base wage. Employees of 65 years of age or older will not be covered by the LTD plan. Life insurance: Life insurance will be in the amount equal to 2 times the employee’s annual basic salary to the next higher multiple of $100. Life insurance for a retired employee will be $7,500. Pension: Employees hired before March 24, 2013, will remain in the defined benefit component of the pension plan. Employees hired after March 24, 2013, will participate in the defined contribution component of the pension plan. Bereavement leave: In the event of the death of the em- ployee’s spouse or child, day and evening shift employees will receive 10 days, night shift employees will receive 8 days and weekend shift employ- ees will receive 6 days. In the event of the death of the em- ployee’s father or mother, day and evening shift employees will receive 5 days, night shift employees will receive 4 days and weekend shift employees will receive 3 days. In the event of the death of the employee’s father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother, sister, son-in-law, daughter-in-law or grandchild employees will be granted 3 days. In the event of the death of the employee’s grandparent, brother-in-law or sister-in-law the employee will receive 1 day. Seniority – recall rights: 18 months. Call-in pay: 4 hours’ pay at regular rate or hours worked at time and three-fourths, whichever is greater. Probationary period: 640 hours worked. Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will pay for alterations required for pregnant employees. Mileage: 45¢ per km. Sample rates of pay (current, after 3% increase): IA: $36.39 per hour rising in 2 steps to $37.49 I: $34.01 rising in 4 steps to $35.17 II: $29.73 rising in 5 steps to $31.20 IIIA: $28.38 rising in 5 steps to $30.06 III: $26.98 rising in 5 steps to $28.69 IV: $25.74 rising in 4 steps to $26.89 V: $25.18 rising in 2 steps to $25.94 VI: $21.54 rising in 4 steps to $25.66 Student: $18 Editor’s notes: On duty: $20 per day for employees required to be on duty. Travel expenses: $60 per day for employ- ees required to travel more than 40 km to commercial establishments. Mobile phone: Any employees required to be available by mobile phone at any time will receive $75 per week. Maternity leave: 18 weeks. Parental leave: 52 weeks. Adoption or birth leave: 2 paid and 3 unpaid days. Paternity leave: 5 weeks. Family leave: 10 unpaid days. Union training fund: Employer will contribute 2¢ per hour worked per employee to the training fund.
