Renewal agreement: Effective Oct. 1, 2018, to Sept. 30, 2021. Signed on Oct. 31, 2018.
Wage adjustments: 
Effective Oct. 3, 2019: 2%
Effective Oct. 1, 2020: 2%
Shift premium: $2 per hour (previously $1.50 per hour) for all work on Saturday, Sunday. $1.50 per hour (previously $2.25 per hour) for afternoon (second) shifts that begin between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. $1.50 per hour (previously $1 per hour) for HETw/CVIP. $1.50 per hour for CATT. $0.75 per hour (previously $0.50 per hour) for app. w/CVIP. $2 per hour for TIC. $1 per hour for mobile tech (mobile tech currently making $2-per-hour premium will be grandfathered).
Paid holidays: 11 days, plus 2 float days. 
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 15 years. 
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 or 10 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Double time after 4 hours of overtime. May be taken as time off in lieu, must be taken within 3 months. May be banked, maximum 40 hours, will be paid out on Dec. 31 if not used. 
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of current spouse, partner, common-law partner, child, parent. 3 days for death of grandparents, siblings, current parents-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, any relative currently living with employee or dependent upon employee for care.
Seniority – recall rights: 1 month per month of service, maximum 12 months after 12 months of service. 
Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours’ pay at time and one-half employee’s base hourly rate. Time starts from when employee leaves home until employee returns home. 
Probationary period: 120 working days. 
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for written warnings; 18 months for suspensions.
Safety shoes: $185 per year. 
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide required PPE for all employees. Employer will supply employees with uniforms (minimum of 11 (previously minimum of 12)), plus 1 insulated coverall, 1 winter jacket, winter gloves and hats. Items will be cleaned, repaired or replaced as necessary at no cost to employee.
Tool allowance: Employer will provide maximum $35,000 for tool and tool-box insurance per mechanic, apprentice mechanic and lube attendant to cover loss of any tools due to break-in at employer’s premises or employer’s vehicle used on service call. Tool allowance will be paid to all technicians (including lube technicians, apprentice technicians) of 1 hour’s pay at base rate, monthly (previously $350 per year for tool and boot allowance).
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 4% increase):
JM technician: $39.74 rising 2 steps to $41.34
Trailer technician: $30.19 rising 2 steps to $31.40
PRP: $23.04 rising 2 steps to $23.97
Lube technician: $22 rising 2 steps to $22.89
Editor’s notes: Licensing: All licensed technicians must apply for their CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program) license within probationary period. Employer will assist in process and will reimburse direct costs associated with application. On-call: Off-work employees assigned after hours on-call responsibility for closed shop hours will receive 10 hours of pay at employee’s regular rate. Payment includes all telephone handling. For each statutory holiday that shop is closed and employee is on-call, employee will receive extra 3 hours of pay at employee’s straight-time rate. Safety glasses: Employer will provide OHS-compliant prescription-safety glasses to employees as needed, free of charge. Training: If employees leave regular station to attend training away from Calgary Metro area, employees will receive straight-time pay for traveling time. Any time (travel or training) in excess of regular shift will be paid for at time and one-half.
