Renewal agreement: Effective March 16, 2018, to March 15, 2022. Signed on March 16, 2018.

Wage adjustments:

Effective March 16, 2018: 1%

Effective March 15, 2019: 1%

Effective March 20, 2020: 1%

Effective March 19, 2021: 1%

Shift premium: 5% for hours worked on afternoon shift; $0.50 per hour for first 10 years for new hires. 10% for hours worked on night shift; $1 per hour for first 10 years for new hires.

Paid holidays: Employer will receive holidays recognized by General Motors of Canada for duration of collective agreement (Woodstock employees receive August civic holiday 3-day weekend instead of Thanksgiving).

Vacations with pay: % of earnings as defined in ESA to start, 80 hours after 1 year, 100 hours after 3 years, 120 hours after 5 years, 140 hours after 10 years, 160 hours after 15 years, 200 hours after 20 years. Employees will also receive 56 hours of floating vacation pay allowance over life of agreement (time not taken by March 15, 2022, will be forfeited by employee).

Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day (except for 12-hour shifts) and 40 hours per week. Time and one-half for all work on Saturday; double time for all work on Sunday (except for employees on 7-day operations). For 7-day operations employees, time and one-half for all work on first or second regularly scheduled day off; double time for all work on second regularly scheduled day off (if employee work first regularly scheduled day off that week); time and one-quarter for all work on Sunday.

Meal allowance: $15 when employee works 4 hours or more of overtime before or after normal scheduled shift.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums (after 6 months of service).

Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums (after 6 months of service).

Sick leave: Employer will grant leave of absence, without pay, for illness or accidents.

Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums (after 6 months of service).

Pension: Employer pays 100% of premiums (after 6 months of service). Employees will be entitled to contribute personal amounts into group RRSP. Employee will contribute 1% of wages to new DC plan and employer will match contribution. Effective Jan. 1, 2022: 2%.

Bereavement leave: 3 days for service inside Ontario, 5 days for service outside Ontario for death in immediate family (spouse, same-sex spouse, parent, stepparent, grandparent, child, stepchild, grandchild, brother, stepbrother, half-brother, sister, stepsister, half-sister, current spouse’s parent, current spouse’s stepparent, current spouse’s grandparent, son’s current spouse, daughter’s current spouse, brother-in-law, sister-in-law). 1 additional day for death of spouse, child, parent, brother, sister. When employee loses immediate relative and funeral occurs outside Canada, requirement to attend relative’s funeral will be waived. 1 day for death of aunt, uncle, nieces, nephews.

Seniority – recall rights: Period equal to seniority employee had acquired at time of layoff or absence or period of 1 year, whichever is greater.

Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay at applicable rate.

Probationary period: 90 calendar days in consecutive 12-month period.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 1 year.

Safety shoes: $600 per year for PSOs; $450 per year for SSOs, for employer-approved boots.

Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide shirts (long-sleeve, short-sleeve), pants, shorts (Woodstock only), coveralls, parka 2-in-1, spring jacket, lined sweater, sweater, leather belt, utility belt, CSA-approved green-patch work boots or shoes, rain coat, rain pants, winter headgear or toque, winter gloves, summer hat, dickey, key ring holder, canvas logo utility bag, mini-mag flashlight, hands-free flashlight. Employer will provide 6005PF nitrile gloves or equivalent, as required. Employer will provide Laerdal pocket mask or equivalent.

PSO (hired prior to March 22, 2015): $29.98 rising 3 steps to $30.89

New-hire PSOs

To start: $18.36 rising 3 steps to $18.92

Up to 1 year: $19.19 rising 3 steps to $19.77

After 2 years: $20.01 rising 3 steps to $20.62

After 3 years: $21.59 rising 3 steps to $22.24

After 4 years: $22.78 rising 3 steps to $23.48

After 5 years: $23.98 rising 3 steps to $24.71

After 6 years: $25.18 rising 3 steps to $25.95

After 7 years: $26.38 rising 3 steps to $27.18

After 8 years: $27.58 rising 3 steps to $28.42

After 9 years: $28.78 rising 3 steps to $29.65

After 10 years: $29.98 rising 3 steps to $30.89

Editor’s notes: Safety glasses: Employer will supply prescription safety glasses. Justice fund: Employer will contribute $0.01 for each straight-time hour worked by PSO. Paid education leave: Employer will contribute $0.04 for each straight-time hour worked by PSO, SSO. Legal: Employer will contribute $0.16 for each straight-time hour worked by PSO into legal fund.
