Renewal agreement: Effective Sept. 1, 2019 to Aug. 31, 2022. Ratified on Dec. 11, 2019. Signed on April 8, 2020.

Paid holidays: 11 days.

Vacations with pay: Employee will take vacation time according to pre-arranged schedule with timing dependent on operational requirements. Employer may allow employee to carry forward maximum 10 days’ vacation time for 1 year.

Overtime: Time and one-half for first 4 hours of overtime, double time thereafter. Paid after 7 hours for clerical employees, 7.5 hours for custodial employees or 8 hours for maintenance employees per day. Double time for all work on regularly scheduled day off. May be taken as time off in lieu, maximum 40 hours accumulation. Employees may request, by Nov. 15 of each year, payout of all or part of overtime not utilized through time off. Employees will be paid requested payout at end of December of each year.

Medical benefits: Employees eligible to participate will be members of Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan (ASEBP) as condition of employment (employer pays 100% of premiums). All employees eligible to participate will be members of Alberta Health Care Plan as condition of employment, with exception of those covered through spousal plan (employer pays 100% of premiums). Employer will contribute $41.66 per month (equivalent to $500 per year) for health/wellness care spending account (unused balance will be carried forward for total accumulation of 2 years).

Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums for ASEBP Dental Plan 3 which includes coverage of 100% for basic dentistry, 60% for periodontics ($1,500 per participant per lifetime), 50% for extensive dentistry. Benefits are limited to combined maximum on basic and extensive of $1,500 for each participant per year. Plan is compulsory for all employees.

Vision: Employer pays 100% of ASEBP Vision Plan 3.

Sick leave: 1.5 days per month. May be accumulated, maximum 90 days. Maximum 90 days without pay will be given to employee who does not qualify for sick leave with pay or who is unable to return to work at termination of period for which sick leave with pay is given.

AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Pension: Local Authorities Pension Plan.

Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of parent, wife, husband, common-in-law spouse, brother, sister, child, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, former guardian, fiancé, any second-degree relative who has been residing in same household. Where burial occurs outside province, leave will include reasonable travelling time without pay. One-half day to attend funeral as pallbearer. Additional one-half day without loss of salary may be given at discretion of employer.

Seniority – recall rights: 1 year for layoffs (employee will not lose seniority rights if absent from work because of sickness, accident, leave of absence approved by employer).

Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours of pay at overtime rates (will be paid from time employee leaves home to report for duty until time employee arrives back home upon proceeding directly from work).

Probationary period: Continuous 6-month period, exclusive of sick days or any leaves of absence (may be extended up to additional 3 months at option of employer).

Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months for disciplinary reports.

Safety shoes: $150 per year when employer requires employee to wear CSA-approved footwear. Employee will be able to accrue allowance, maximum $300.

Mileage: Authorized time spent travelling between sites during workday is work time and employer will provide mileage entitlement between sites.
