Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2023 to Nov. 30, 2025. Signed on April 1, 2023.

Shift premium: $2 per hour for 2 Alberta or Red Seal journeyperson tickets hired with intent to use both tickets or performs both tasks. $2 per hour for ICCS certification. $3 per hour for night shift.

Paid holidays: 11 days.

Vacations with pay: Non-construction employees will be given 5% vacation pay to start; 6% after 5 years of service. Construction employees will be given 6% vacation pay. Employer will consider vacations at times requested considering business requirements.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked after 8 straight-time hours per day and 40 straight-time hours per week. Overtime will be paid when employee works on any regularly scheduled day off.

Meal allowance: Additional 1 half-hour paid meal period and 1 meal will be provided for employees who work beyond 12 hours in 1 day.

Medical benefits: CLAC Health and Welfare Trust Fund.

Dental: Basic services: 100%, maximum $2,000 per person per year. Comprehensive: 50%, maximum $2,000 per person per year. Orthodontic: 50%, maximum $3,000 lifetime maximum per child younger than 19.

AD&D: Coverage of $100,000.

Life insurance: Coverage of $100,000.

Pension: CLAC group RSP and CLAC pension plan.

Bereavement leave: 3 days for dead of spouse, common-law spouse, child, legal dependent, parents, parents-in-law, legal guardian, brother, brother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren.

Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours’ pay at appropriate rate.

Probationary period: 90 calendar days.

Safety shoes: All employees will wear CSA-approved safety boots supplied by employees.

Uniforms/clothing: All employees will wear CSA-approved safety hats supplied by employer. Employer will supply employees with all safety-related equipment excluding prescription safety eyewear.

Mileage: $0.62 per kilometre traveled based from employee’s residence to zone 1 radius line and back to employee’s residence for employees whose permanent place of residence is within zone 2. $0.62 per kilometre when employee is using personal vehicle to perform work duties for employer.

Field rate

Electrician: $42

Electrician lead-hand: $44.10

Electrician foreman: $46.62

Electrician general foreman: $52.50

Insulator: $40

Welder CWB: $40

Editor’s notes: Prescription safety eyewear: Employer reimburse employee 50% of cost of prescription safety eyewear or laser eye surgery, maximum $300. Employee must have worked 600 hours for first reimbursement. For any subsequent reimbursement employee must have worked additional 4,000 hours from last time reimbursed.
