Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2014, to Dec. 31, 2016.

Wage adjustments:

Shift premium: 75¢ per hour for shifts between 4 p.m. and midnight. 85¢ per hour for shifts between midnight and 8 a.m. 75¢ per hour when employee is required to clean or repair sanitary sewers, operate pesticide equipment, handle hot-mix asphalt, repair inside a garbage truck, spray-painting and/or collection of solid waste.

Paid holidays: 12 days. Double time for all hours worked on a designated day off.
Vacations with pay: 15 days to start, 18 days after 4 years of service, 23 days after 8 years, 28 days after 16 years, 30 days after 25 years, 33 days after 30 years.

Overtime: Time and one-half for first 3 hours worked in excess of 40 per week, double time for all hours worked after that.

Medical benefits: $3,000 every 5 years for hearing aids.

Dental: 100% coverage for basic services, 50% coverage for prosthetic appliance and crown and bridge procedures, 50% coverage for orthodontics, up to $2,500 lifetime maximum.

Vision: $400 every 2 years. $100 every 2 years for eye examinations.

Sick leave: 1 day earned for each completed month of service in the first year. 12 days per year after 1 year, 18 days per year after 5 years, 24 days per year after 15 years. Maximum accrual is 130 days. No cash payout for unused sick leave upon termination of employment.

LTD: 70% of monthly earnings.

AD&D: 3 times employee’s base salary.

Life insurance: 3 times employee’s base salary.

Pension: Municipal Pension Plan.

Bereavement leave: 3 days for the funeral of an employee’s spouse (including common-law and same-sex), children, stepchildren, foster children, parents, stepparents, foster parents, brothers, sisters, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren, or any other employee permanently residing with the employee.

Seniority – recall rights: 1 year.

Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours’ pay at double time. 2 hours’ pay Monday to Friday and 3 hours’ pay on a weekend when an employee is required to be on standby.

Probationary period: 6 months.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years.

Safety shoes: $90 per year, $100 effective Jan. 1, 2016.

Tool allowance: 35¢ per hour for mechanics required to provide their own tools. Employer to provide insurance up to $10,00 per employee, $500 deductible on all claims.
