Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2017, to Dec. 31, 2019. Signed on July 6, 2018.
Wage adjustments: 
Effective Jan. 1, 2017: 2%
Effective Jan. 1, 2018: 2%
Effective Jan. 1, 2019: 1%
Shift premium: $5 per hour when employee is designated in charge. $6 per hour when employee is assigned to replace another person in out-of-scope position.
Paid holidays: 12 days. Any of the following: Easter Monday, August Civic Day, Boxing Day may be exchanged within same year for any of: International Women’s Day, May Day, employee’s birthday, any religious holiday of one’s own faith. On last working day preceding Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, each employee will be entitled to 3.5 hours off with pay.
Vacations with pay: 5.5 hours per pay period to start, 7 hours per pay period after 4 years, 8.25 hours per pay period after 8 years, additional 35 hours after 20 years, additional 35 hours after 25 years, additional 35 hours after 30 years. Unused time may be carried forward into next year for maximum 3 months. 
Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked in excess of regular hours of work, double time after first 4 hours. May be taken as time off in lieu, but must be taken with 6 months or will be paid out. Pay out may be transferred to employee’s RRSP without deducting taxes.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Employer will reimburse each employee, maximum $850 per year, for health or fitness club, weight management, smoking cessation programs fees, membership costs.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums for yearly and lifetime maximums at $3,000. Extensive coverage includes implants and appliances (appliances to include mouth guards for therapeutic use).
Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $600 biennially, inclusive of coverage for elective corrective laser eye surgery.
Paramedical: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $150 per visit maximum for psychologist, registered social worker, addictions-specialist coverage (maximum 26 visits). 
LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 80% of regular salary indexed annually to rising salaries. 
Pension: Employer will contribute 13% of employee’s salary to RRSP owned by employee. 
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in family (employee’s or employee’s spouse’s child, father, mother, sister, brother, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, grandparents, grandchild, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, guardian, employee’s spouse or fiancé). 2 additional days for travel. 
Probationary period: 6 months. 
Discipline: Sunset clause is 1 year.
Severance: 4 weeks’ pay per year of service, maximum 52 weeks. 
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 3% increase):
Job rate: $66.23 rising 2 steps to $68.23
Experience rate (after 8 years of service): $69.51 rising 2 steps to $71.61
Long-service rate (after 15 years of service): $71.59 rising 2 steps to $73.76
Editor’s notes: Humanity fund: Employer will deduct $40 per year per employee for USW humanity fund. Hearing aids: $2,000 biennially. Expenses: $20 for breakfast; $25 for lunch; $35 for supper for business-travel meals. $50 for each overnight stay where private arrangements are made by employee. $100 per day for family-care expenses incurred above normal expenses. Transportation expenses: $1,000 per month allowance. Effective Jan. 1, 2019: $1,050 per month. $2,200 per year for insurance. $0.12 per kilometre for UNA business kilometres over allowed amount.
