Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2017, to June 30, 2021. Signed on Aug. 4, 2017. 
Wage adjustments: 
Effective July 1, 2017: 1.7%
Effective July 1, 2018: 1.5%
Effective July 1, 2019: 1.5%
Effective July 1, 2020: 1.5%
Paid holidays: 11 days, plus 2 floating holidays. 
Vacations with pay: 1.25 days per month, maximum 15 days to start, 1.67 days per month, maximum 20 days after 2 years, 2.08 days per month, maximum 25 days after 19 years, 2.17 days per month, maximum 26 days after 28 years. Additional 1 week’s vacation after 19 years of service. For employee who works 12-hour shifts: 10 hours per month, maximum 120 hours per year to start, 13.33 hours per month, maximum 160 hours per year after 2 years, 16.67 hours per month, maximum 200 hours per year after 19 years, 17.33 hours per month, maximum 208 hours per year after 28 years. Additional 40 hours’ vacation after 19 years of service. 
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 12 hours per day or 35, 36 or 48 hours per week. May be taken as time off in lieu, must be taken within 6 months. May be accumulated, maximum 80 hours. 
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Employee pays 15% of cost of benefits that do have specific dollar maximum. Health-care spending account: $475 per year (for family coverage) or $250 per year (for single coverage). Effective 2019: $525 per year (for family coverage) or $300 per year (for single coverage). Unused funds may be carried forward, maximum 1 year. 
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Employee pays 15% of cost of benefits that do have specific dollar maximum. 
Vision: $150 per year or $300 in any 2 years.
Sick leave: Maximum 15 weeks or 105 days.
LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums. 
AD&D: Employee pays 100% of premiums. 
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for $25,000 of coverage (plus $25,000 which effectively passes on reduced employer-employment insurance premiums to staff).
Pension: Western Pension Plan. Employer will contribute: 7.5% of annual earnings if service is less than 10 years; 8% of annual earnings if service is more than 10 years; 8.5% of regular earnings if service is more than 20 years. Employee will contribute: 2.5% of regular annual earnings if most recent date of hire is on or after Jan. 1, 1991; either 6% of annual earnings minus CPP contributions or employee may reduce contributions to 2.5% of regular earnings if most recent date of hire is before Jan. 1, 1991.
Bereavement leave: Employer does not place unreasonable limit on compassionate leave required of employee when death occurs in immediate family. Dean, budget unit head or designate will determine paid portion of such compassionate leave. Immediate family is spouse, common-law of opposite or same-sex, parent, stepparent, foster-parent, mother in-law, father in-law, grandparent, grandchild, stepgrandchild, brother, brother in-law, sister, sister in-law, son, son in-law, daughter, daughter in-law, foster-child, stepchild. Maximum 3 days for funeral of friend, distant relatives. 
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months, 18 months if employee is grant-funded.
Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours’ pay at time and one-half base hourly rate. 
Probationary period: 90 working days for continuing, sessional employees.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years.
Severance: Equal to employee’s regular weekly salary, for non-overtime work, week multiplied by sum of number of full or partial years of service, maximum 30 weeks. 
Safety shoes: Reimbursement of $120 every 12 months. 
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide winter coats on cost-sharing basis.
