Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2020 to Dec. 31, 2023. Signed on Nov. 28, 2020.

Wage adjustments:

Effective Jan. 1, 2020: 2.25%

Effective Jan. 1, 2021: 2%

Effective Jan. 1, 2022: 2%

Effective Jan. 1, 2023: 2%

Shift premium: $3 per hour for time worked between 8 p.m. and 1 a.m. on night shift. $1 per hour for time worked between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Paid holidays: 12 days.

Vacations with pay: 3 weeks to start, 4 weeks after 4 years, 5 weeks after 10 years. Employees will receive additional 1 bonus week of vacation leave in year in which 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, 30th, 35th, 40th, 45th anniversary of service falls.

Overtime: Time and one-half for first 2 hours worked after 7-hour shifts; double time thereafter. Time and one-half for first 2 hours worked after on scheduled day off; double time thereafter. Double time for all work on Sunday. May be taken as time off in lieu but accumulated time off must be scheduled prior to end of each calendar year or it will be paid out.

Meal allowance: Employee who works overtime beyond regular shift will normally be provided with meal by employer but if meal is not provided, employee will be reimbursed for receipted meal expense maximum $12 and employee will be allowed 1-hour paid meal period in which to eat meal at straight-time hourly rate, provided overtime is greater than 2 hours of work.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for B. C. Medical Services Plan.

Sick leave: 1 day for each 154 hours worked as care days, with no limit on accrual. After depletion of care days, salary will be covered at 75% of wages maximum 26 weeks from date of disability.

Pension: Regular employees will have option of participating in DB pension plan or group RRSP.

Bereavement leave: 3 days, plus 2 days travel time if necessary, for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law, same-sex spouses, mother, father, son, daughter, foster children, stepchildren, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, mother-in-law, father-in-law, stepparents, foster-parents, grandparents, grandchildren, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law). 1 half-day may also be requested to attend funeral of family member or friend.

Seniority – recall rights: 12 months for layoffs. When employee transfers to permanent excluded role, employee forgoes right to seniority but if excluded employee returns to bargaining unit role, employee will be credited with seniority they had accrued up to time they left bargaining unit.

Call-in pay: Minimum of 3 hours of pay at applicable overtime premium or for actual time worked, whichever is greater.

Probationary period: 910 hours actually worked. Period may only be extended once per employee, maximum 910 additional hours worked.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months for any document, report, incident, notation regarding disciplinary action.

Severance: 1 week of pay after 3 months of service; 2 weeks or pay after 1 year of service. Additional 2 weeks of pay per year, maximum 16 weeks, for each completed year of service thereafter.

Mileage: Mileage at rate established by Canada Revenue Agency’s automobile allowance rate for employees who use own vehicles on employer business.

Editor’s notes: Job-related courses: When employee takes job-related course to be taken on own time, employer will reimburse 100% of cost of course. When employer requests employee to attend credit union course or courses, employer will pay 100% of cost; other courses, approved by employer, will be reimbursed at 50% of tuition. Childcare expenses: $75 per day where employee is requested or required by employer to attend course outside headquarters or geographic location, such that employee incurs additional childcare expenses.
