Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2018, to April 30, 2020. Ratified on June 11, 2018. Signed on July 20, 2018.
Wage adjustments: 
Effective May 1, 2018: 2%
Effective May 1, 2019: 2%
Shift premium: $2 per hour for any hours worked between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. $3 per hour for any hours worked between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. $3.25 per hour for all work between 11 p.m. on Friday until 7 a.m. on Monday.
Paid holidays: 11 days. 
Vacations with pay: 1 day per month, maximum 10 days to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 3 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 6 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 10 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 15 years. 
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. 
Medical benefits: Employer pays 70% of premiums, employee pays 30% of premiums (previously employer pays 60% of premiums, employee pays 40% of premiums).
Dental: Employer pays 70% of premiums, employee pays 30% of premiums.
Sick leave: 12 days per year. 
STD: Employer pays 70% of premiums, employee pays 30% of premiums.
LTD: Employer pays 70% of premiums, employee pays 30% of premiums. 
AD&D: Employer pays 70% of premiums, employee pays 30% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employer pays 70% of premiums, employee pays 30% of premiums.
Pension: Nursing Homes and Related Industries Pension Plan. Employer, employee will each contribute 4% to plan. 
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of father, mother, child, spouse (including adult interdependent relationship-partner). 3 days for death of legal guardian, brother, sister, grandparents, grandchildren, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law. 2 additional days for travel more than 322 kilometres away. One-half day to attend funeral as pallbearer.
Seniority – recall rights: 1 year. 
Call-in pay: Time and one-half for all hours worked. 
Probationary period: 450 hours or 6 months, whichever is shorter. 
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months.
Severance: 1 month of pay after 1 year of service; 2 months of pay after 3 years of service.

Start rate: $21.08 rising 1 step to $21.50 
After 460 hours: $21.49 rising 1 step to $21.92 
After 920 hours: $21.88 rising 1 step to $22.32 
After 2,870 hours: $22.64 rising 1 step to $23.09
Assistant cook 
Start rate: $18.74 rising 1 step to $19.11 
After 460 hours: $19.14 rising 1 step to $19.52 
After 920 hours: $19.51 rising 1 step to $19.90 
After 2,870 hours: $20.31 rising 1 step to $20.72
Activity coordinator 
Start rate: $19.55 rising 1 step to $19.94 
After 460 hours: $19.95 rising 1 step to $20.35 
After 920 hours: $20.34 rising 1 step to $20.75 
After 2,870 hours: $21.08 rising 1 step to $21.50
Activity coordinator (certified) 
Start rate: $20.40 rising 1 step to $20.81

Editor’s notes: CPR, first aid: Employer will make available to employees opportunity to attend properly accredited cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), accredited food-safety course and basic first-aid course. Employer will assume all instructional costs, if any, of these courses.
