Wage adjustments:
Effective June 20, 2020: $0.30 per hour plus supplemental based on service
Effective Dec. 21, 2020: $0.30 per hour
Effective June 20, 2021: $0.30 per hour plus supplemental based on service
Effective Dec. 21, 2021: $0.30 per hour
Effective June 20, 2022: $0.30 per hour plus supplemental based on service
Shift premium: $0.50 per hour for second shift (between 11:30 a.m. and midnight, $1 per hour for third shift (between 6:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m.). $0.35 per hour for working in receiving, shipping, maintenance department (increases to $0.40 per hour on Feb. 1, 2021; $0.45 per hour on Feb. 1, 2022).
Paid holidays: 12 days plus 3 floater days after 1 year of service.
Vacations with pay: 1 week after 6 months, 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 10 years. 2 additional days after 20 years (4 additional days as of Feb. 1, 2021 and 5 additional days as of Feb. 1, 2022). Employee who earns 3 weeks may carry over 1 week to next year; employee who earns 4 weeks may carry over 2 weeks to next year.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all time worked after 40 hours per week. Time may be banked (employees who work banked time and terminate employment prior to taking time off will be paid all eligible banked hours on final cheque).
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. 100% reimbursement for level 1, 2. 50% reimbursement for level 3, 4. Maximum $1,500 combined per year for all levels.
Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums. $240 every 2 years.
Paramedical: Physiotherapist: maximum $30 per visit to maximum of $385 per year. Massage therapists: maximum $30 per visit to maximum of $385 per year. Chiropractor: maximum $30 per visit to maximum of $385 per year. Podiatrist: maximum $30 per visit to maximum of $385 per year. Naturopath/homeopathic: maximum $30 per visit to maximum of $385 per year (homeopathic services could be used in lieu of naturopath services).
Paramedical: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Sick leave: 48 hours per year. Employees with 20 years of service receive additional 16 hours. Unused sick leave may be accumulated to maximum of 5 days. Can be carried over to following year only.
STD: 10% top-up of EI benefits up to 67% of monthly insurable benefits for up to 16 weeks.
LTD: 66.7% of monthly insurable earnings maximum of $1,500 per month, after 17 weeks of illness.
Pension: Employer pays 100% of premiums into Workers United Canada retirement fund.
Bereavement leave: 5 paid days for death of spouse, common-law partner, child, stepchild, child-in-law, parent, stepparent, parent-in-law, sibling, stepsibling, sibling-in-law, grandparent, spouse’s grandparent, grandchild. No loss of pay to attend funeral of member of bargaining unit for up to 3 employees.
Seniority – recall rights: 18 months for layoffs.
Probationary period: 90 calendar days (previously 480 worked hours). 1,200 hours worked in 12-month period from July to June for temporary or agency employees.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 9 months for written warnings and suspensions; 6 months for verbal warnings.
Safety shoes: $135 per year.
