Renewal agreement: Effective June 1, 2019 to May 31, 2023. Ratified in June 2019. Signed on June 3, 2019.

Wage adjustments:

Effective June 1, 2019: 8%

Effective June 1, 2020: 1.7%

Effective June 1, 2021: 1.7%

Effective June 1, 2022: 1.6%

Shift premium: Time and one-half for employees requested to change shift during regular workweek with less than 3 days’ notice, for first shift of new scheduled shift. $0.50 per hour for team-leads.

Paid holidays: 11 days including 2 floater days during Christmas holiday period.

Vacations with pay: ESA minimum to start, 1 week after six months, 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 5 years (previously 7 years).

Overtime: Time and one-half for hours worked in excess of 40 per week and on contractual holidays. Double time for hours worked on Sunday unless employee refuses overtime opportunity on preceding Saturday. Double time for hours worked on statutory holidays.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Examinations and preventative care payable at 100% with annual maximum of $500. Basic restorative (fillings, periodontal, root canals) payable at 80% with annual maximum of $900. 50% reimbursement for major restorative services, maximum $2,000 per year. 50% reimbursement for orthodontics for dependent children, maximum $3,000 per lifetime.

Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Coverage of $325 in any 24-month period for employees and families.

Paramedical: Employer pays 100% of premiums. coverage of maximum $60 per visit, combined maximum $500 per year for chiropractor, chiropodist, registered massage therapist, acupuncturist, physical therapist, child psychologist.

Weekly indemnity: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 66 2/3% for up to 4 weeks.

LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 66 2/3% for up to 2 years or return to work.

Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $25,000.

Pension: Employer matches employee contributions maximum 1% of base earnings into Woodbridge Foam’s Defined Contribution Pension Plan (DCPP), after 1 year of service. Employee will make mandatory 2% contribution. For employees who are participating in pension plan for Kipling hourly employees, employees will contribute $0.50 per hour into plan.

Bereavement leave: 5 consecutive paid days for death of spouse, parent, child, sibling. 1 paid day for death of grandparent, parent-in-law, sibling-in-law.

Seniority – recall rights: 24 months.

Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay for call-back after completing daily or weekly shifts or reporting for work with no work available if no advance notice.

Probationary period: 90 days worked within 12 consecutive months.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for any disciplinary action given to employee.

Safety boots: $125 per year for regular employees (previously $100) and $275 per year (previously $150) for skilled trades and tooling employees.

Tool allowance: $650 to all skilled tradespersons on reimbursement basis (previously $400).

Sample rates of hourly pay (current starting rate, after 3.3% increase):

Maintenance mechanic: $33.30 rising 2 steps to $34.80

Production operator: $18.08 rising 2 steps to $18.68

Online operator/driver: $18.58 rising 2 steps to $19.18

Tooling technician: $23.58 rising 2 steps to $24.18

Active T-production employees will receive $1,500 lump sum payment in first pay period of each December during life of agreement (payment may be added into employee’s personal RRSP account).
