Workers at Carillion Canada in Toronto join Teamsters

About 25 workers at Carillion Canada in Toronto joined Teamsters Local Union 419 June 26.

These health-care workers are in the forensic services and coroner’s complex, located beside the Humber River Hospital which currently employs 900 members of Teamsters 419, said the union

The Carillion staff members were seeking better wages and a strong union to put an end to problems like favouritism in the workplace and a generalized lack of respect from management, according to Teamsters.

The union won the representation vote by more than 90 per cent, said the union.
