Yearly wage increase, IAM pension part of new deal: IAM
Northside Toyota employees in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. ratified a tentative agreement on Oct. 2, that was their first contract after joining the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) in November 2018.
This agreement now covers all automotive service technicians, apprentices and parts department personnel. They are new members of IAM, Local 2332.
“This first agreement brings with it solid pay grids with yearly increases, an IAM pension, increases in benefits and work rules that are not at the whim of management,” said Lou Pagrach, IAM grand lodge representative.
Northside Toyota is part of Palumbo Investments and is the largest volume dealer in Sault Ste. Marie. The IAM now represents workers at six auto dealerships in Sault Ste. Marie.
