Workers at Winnipeg’s Tamarack Recovery Centre ratify new agreement

Wages rise in each of three years of deal

Manitoba Government and General Employees’ Union (MGEU) members of Tamarack Recovery Centre, Local 157 — who provide counseling and residential care at the addiction recovery facility in Winnipeg — ratified a new three-year collective agreement April 5.

Highlights of the agreement include wage increases in each of the three years and improvements to compassionate care and birth-of-a-child leave.

The union will now meet with the employer to finalize and sign the contract for distribution to members.
