Renewal agreement: Effective June 21, 2018 to June 20, 2021. Signed on Jan. 17, 2019.

Shift premium: $1 per hour for journeyman reefer tech who completes 2-week Thermo King course. $2 per hour after 1-year anniversary of obtaining journeyperson status for trailer or reefer journeyperson. $4 per hour after 1-year anniversary of obtaining journeyperson status for truck journeyperson. $1.50 per hour for truck-shop employees who hold truck-safety certification. $1.50 per hour for reefer/trailer shop employees who hold trailer-safety certification. $0.60 per hour for truck and reefer/trailer shop employees who hold MOPIA (Manitoba Ozone Protection Association) certification. $1 per hour for tire-shop employees who hold wheel-installer certification. $0.25 per hour for employees who hold forklift certification; additional $0.25 for employees who hold propane certification, maximum $0.50 per hour. $1 per hour to employees who work on mobile-service truck. $0.75 per hour for all weekday hours on afternoon shift between 3:30 p.m. and 7 a.m.; additional $0.90 per hour for all hours worked on weekend; $1 per hour for all hours worked on midnight shift after 11 p.m. (to obtain weekend or midnight premiums, this must be employee’s regular shift). $1per hour for employee who oversees operation of department (lead-hands/assistant-foreman) for more than 2 hours.

Paid holidays: 10 days.

Vacations with pay: For employees hired before Jan. 1, 2013: 10 days or 4% after 1 year, 15 days or 6% after 5 years, 20days or 8% after 10 years, 25days or 10% after 15 years. For employees hired after Jan. 1, 2013: 10 days or 4% after 1year, 15 days or 6% after 5 years, 20days or 8% after 10 years.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 or 10 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Time and one-half for first 4 hours on scheduled day of rest, double time thereafter. Employees may be required to work maximum 5 hours’ mandatory overtime per week. May be accumulated, maximum 30 hours of overtime.

Meal allowance: $7 if employee works more than 2 hours of overtime continuous with regular shift on less than 24 hours’ advance notice.

Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (mother, father, brother, sister, wife, husband, children, common-law spouse, stepchildren, stepparent, grandparents, grandchildren). 1 day to attend funeral for death of mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law.

Seniority – recall rights: 18months.

Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay at time and one-half.

Probationary period: 90 actual days worked.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 24months.

Severance: 1 week’s pay for each year of service, maximum 10 weeks, for employees with 2years of service, who are terminated due to permanent closure of whole or any part of plant.

Safety shoes: $140 per year (previously $135 per year) for CSA-approved safety boots.

Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply 2 snow suits of appropriate sizes in each of tire shop and trailer shop, once per year.

Tool allowance: $400 per year (after 1 year of service) for snowsuits and tools that appear on tool list.

Editor’s notes: On-call: $70 per week for employee (who works in truck or trailer shop) on-call for 1 week on rotating basis. Employees will carry employer-issued cellphone and will respond to all calls from employer during week. Humanity fund: $0.01 per hour from wages of all employees in bargaining unit for all hours worked, maximum 40 straight time hours per week, to USW Humanity Fund.
