Renewal agreement: Effective June 2, 2018 to May 31, 2021. Signed on Feb. 4, 2018.

Paid holidays: 12 days.

Vacations with pay: 1 day per month, maximum 2 weeks, or 4% to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 4 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.

Dental: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.

Vision: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.

LTD: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.

AD&D: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.

Life insurance: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.

Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (mother, father, husband, wife, children, sister, brother, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, grandparents, spouse (common-law spouse), stepchildren, stepparents, stepgrandparents, any relative who resides with employee). Additional 7 days without pay if funeral occurs outside of a 700-kilometre radius of employee’s normal work location.

Seniority – recall rights: 12 months for layoffs; 24 months where there is no reasonable likelihood of return to work.

Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay at applicable overtime rate, when called in after working day is over; minimum 4 hours’ pay at applicable rate, when called in on day off.

Probationary period: 90 days.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 discipline-free months after verbal or written warning; 15 discipline-free months after receiving any form of suspension.

Safety shoes: $100 reimbursement after 6 months of employment, for approved footwear required for Edmonton airport sites. $150 reimbursement thereafter every 12 months.

Uniforms/clothing: All uniforms, when supplied by employer, will be without cost to employee. Upon termination of employment, all uniform pieces will be returned to employer (failure to do so will result in deduction from final pay, maximum $430). Employer will provide 2 pairs of pants, 4 shirts, 1 multi-purposed jacket-parka, normal cresting, 1 sweater, 1 windbreaker.

Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 4.1% increase):

AEO and ATL, airside escort D: $22.92 rising 2 steps to $23.85

Groundside supervisor/supervisor escort DA: $19.43 rising 2 steps to $20.22

Guardhouse, central office: $18.73 rising 2 steps to $19.49

General ranks: $17.78 rising 2 steps to $18.50

New hires

0 to 6 months: $16

6 to 12 months: $16.25

After 12 months: General

Eligible employees will receive $1,500 signing bonus to be paid within 30 days of ratification (employees with more than 12 months seniority as of June 1, 2018 and have completed at least 1,600 scheduled work hours in previous 12 months).

All other qualified employees will receive $750 signing bonus to be paid within 30 days of ratification (employees must have more than 12 months seniority as of June 1, 2018 and have completed at least 1,000 scheduled work hours in previous 12 months).

Editor’s notes: Parking allowance: Employer will pay 100% of cost of staff parking. Teamsters fund: Employer will contribute $0.05 per regular hour worked for each employee to Teamsters union/industry advancement fund.
