Canada’s nurses have had enough of poor working conditions and staff shortages

Canadian nurses are battling working conditions that, they say, prevent them from doing their jobs properly. Understaffing, cutbacks, shortages and an ever-increasing workload have forced morale to an all-time low.

It's no wonder many of them are flooding to other countries where conditions are better, the pay is better, and they get more respect.

To get their message across, nurses in a number of provinces have staged innovative protests including work-to-rule and, lately, wearing magenta arm bands.
