Suncor, Google and RIM 'most sought-after' companies: LinkedIn

Microsoft, Apple also in top 5

Suncor Energy, Google and Research in Motion are the most sought-after companies in Canada, according to LinkedIn.

Also in the top five are Microsoft and Apple, found the LinkedIn Talent Brand Index, which includes a breakdown of the level of interest among prospective employees by industry, region and job function and measures the influence of their employer brand on the professional network.

There are more than two million companies on LinkedIn and the winners were ranked by analyzing billions of data points between members and companies, and comparing the data with surveys of thousands of members to determine a company's familiarity and engagement score.

The analysis also weighted member actions such as viewing employee profiles and company pages, and following companies. (LinkedIn was excluded from the rankings.)
