Coercion in HR

When does toeing the line cross the line?

HR professionals are often expected to toe the company line and implement policies regardless of whether they agree with them. Sometimes, HR is expected to cut corners, bend the rules or turn a blind eye to unethical behaviour.

The fourth Pulse Survey from the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) of Ontario and Canadian HR Reporter wants to uncover how many HR professionals have you ever felt coerced into doing something they were not comfortable with at work.

To complete the survey, go to http://pulse.themindsuite.com and enter survey code: Coerced.

The survey is open until Wednesday, May 14 at 5 p.m. and all survey responses are anonymous.

The Pulse Surveys are designed to take the pulse of HR practitioners across the country on issues concerning the HR community. Previous surveys have looked at the future of HR and the Certified Human Resources Professionals (CHRP) designation.

The results will be published in the June 16 issue of Canadian HR Reporter and in a subsequent issue of HRPA 360°.
