Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2026. Signed on Aug. 28, 2023.
Wage adjustments:

Shift premium: $2.30 per hour for each hour employee works between 4 p.m. on 1 day and 8 a.m. on following day, provided shift includes hours after 6 p.m. $2.55 per hour for each hour worked by employee between 12:01 a.m. Saturday and midnight Sunday.
Paid holidays: 15 days, including Commonwealth Day, Mid-March, Mid-June, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Mid-July. Employees will also receive 2 additional days off between Christmas and New Year’s.
Vacations with pay: 15 days to start, 20 days after 10 years, 25 days after 25 years. Employee may carry forward to another year any portion of leave unused in previous years, maximum 20 days if employee is eligible for 15 or 20 days per year; 25 days if employee is eligible for 25 days per year.
Overtime: Time and one-half for work after 35 hours per week.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of employee’s spouse, child. 3 days for death of mother, father, sister, brother, grandparent, grandchild, mother-in-law, father-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, legal guardian, near relative residing in employee’s household. 4 additional days, without pay, to attending funeral if death of relative occurs outside province.
Seniority – recall rights: 24 months after layoff.
Call-in pay: Pay for minimum 3 hours at appropriate overtime rate. Employee will be paid cost of transportation to and from place of work at appropriate mileage rate for actual distanced travelled, maximum 40 kilometres. 1 day for death of aunt, uncle, nephew, niece, brother-in-law, sister-in-law.
Probationary period: 6 months for all appointments of newly hired permanent and sessional employees.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months for reprimand or warnings given in writing.
Severance: 2 days of pay for each year of service to start; 5 days of pay for each year of service after 5 years of service; 7 days of pay for each year of service after 10 years of service.
Safety shoes: When safety boots are required, employer will reimburse employee for cost of safety boots, maximum $200 per year or $400 every 2 years. Additional $50 every 2 years where specialty footwear or orthopedic aids are required to address medical issues as recommended by medical specialist.

Editor’s notes: Standby pay: $20.40 for each 8-hour shift of standby. $22.60 for each 8-hour shift of standby on statutory holiday. Professional-development fund: $50,000 per year.
