The plaintiffs sought an oppression award and damages of approximately $1,213,000 based on the value of the shares the plaintiffs said they had expected to receive. The plaintiffs also sought damages of $205,733 for the termination of employment relationship. However, the court found no oppression and ordered damages for termination. Rule 14-1(9) states costs follow the event, and since the plaintiffs were successful in employment termination and the defendants in resisting oppression, the defendants were awarded half of their costs. The plaintiffs were not awarded costs, and the trial was of ordinary difficulty.
