Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2018 to April 30, 2021. Ratified in January 2019. Signed on April 11, 2019.
Wage adjustments:
Effective Jan. 29, 2019: 1.5%
Effective May 1, 2019: 1.5%
Effective May 1, 2020: 2%
Shift premium: $1 per hour for each hour worked between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. $0.75 per hour premium for all hours worked training (excluding team leads, room inspectors).
Paid holidays: 10 days.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks to start, 3 weeks after 6 years, 4 weeks after 11 years, 5 weeks after 23 years, 6 weeks after 30 years
Overtime: Time and one-half for work performed in excess of 40 hours per week and all work performed on statutory holidays.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Division 50 benefit plan.
Sick leave: 2 days per year. If both days are not used, employer will pay employee $100 at end of each year.
Pension: All employees eligible to participate in RRSP plan in which employees are required to make contributions equal to employers maximum 1% of employee’s salary.
Bereavement leave: 5 paid working days for death of spouse, child, parent, stepparent, guardian, grandchild, sibling. 3 paid working days for death of parent-in-law, sibling-in-law, child-in-law, grandparent. 1 paid working day for death of uncle, aunt, niece, nephew. Additional time off may be granted if travel is required to attend funeral. 1 day can be deferred if interment is postponed.
Seniority – recall rights: Period equivalent to employee’s seniority up to 12 months.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay if scheduled day of work is cancelled within 48 hours before start time, if employee reports for work, or if employee is called into work.
Probationary period: 60 days worked.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months, except for major misconduct.
Safety shoes: $125 per year for steel-toed safety footwear to movers, receivers, porters, maintenance employees. $60 per year for all other employees for anti-slip footwear.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer supplies uniforms as negotiated. Employer supplies appropriate outerwear for working outside in inclement weather.

Editor’s notes: Gratuity: From banquets and similar functions, employer will distribute gratuity to employees as follows: 90% to function banquet or conference server and 10% to kitchen and dish room staff. 15% banquet/conference/jet set gratuity/service charge: 5% to management, 10% to employees. Where gratuity is left in room, housekeeper cleaning room will receive it.
