Nova Scotia honours employers for workplace safety

Black and McDonald takes top honours in Annual Mainstay Awards

Employers in Nova Scotia that put safety first are being recognized for their contribution and dedication to workplace safety.

The province’s workplace safety awards program — the Mainstay Awards — are presented by the Workers’ Compenation Board (WCB) of Nova Scotia and the Nova Scotia Department of Labour and Workforce Development.

“We need to establish a culture change in this province, where workplace safety is a deeply rooted belief,” said Nancy MacCready-Williams, CEO of the WCB. “That is why it is so important to publicly recognize those who make such significant efforts to enhance the safety of their workplaces. They are setting the benchmark here in Nova Scotia.”
