Renewal agreement: Effective Dec. 23, 2018, to Dec. 19, 2020. Ratified on March 25, 2019. Signed on Dec. 23, 2018.

Wage adjustments:

Effective Dec. 23, 2018: 2%

Effective Dec. 22, 2019: 2.25%

Shift premium: $450 per month upon obtaining third-class certificate. $800 per month upon obtaining second-class certificate. $900 per month upon obtaining first-class certificate. Employer will pay 1-time $1,000 exam-completion bonus to employees who complete all exams required for a second-class certificate. 5% for power engineers at levels B, C, D, E who are trained and qualified for units 1, 2, 3.

Paid holidays: 12 days.

Vacations with pay: 120 hours after 1 year, 160 hours after 7 years, 240 hours after 22 years.

Overtime: Double time for all hours worked in excess of regular shift. Time may be placed into overtime bank, maximum 96 hours. Time may be carried over into following years.

Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (current spouse, parent, grandparent, grandchild, guardian, parent of current spouse, child, ward, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparent of current spouse, related dependant of employee); one-half day to attend funeral services of persons related more distantly.

Seniority – recall rights: 12 months.

Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours’ pay at premium pay. In instances of emergency, call-in will commence from time employee is called at home and will continue until time employee returns home, provided employee goes directly from home to worksite and returns directly home on completion of work, maximum 45 minutes each way.

Probationary period: 180 days.

Severance: 2 weeks (39.6 hours per week) per year of service, minimum 4 weeks, maximum 52 weeks.

Safety shoes: $500 per year for 100% of cost of CSA-approved safety footwear; 100% of cost of liners and insoles; 100% of cost of resoling or repairs.

Uniforms/clothing: Work gloves will be provided to employees. Maximum $250 for cost of non-melting undergarments. Employer will initially provide 6 pairs of coveralls to all employees; replacement will be on wear and tear. Employer will provide all required personal protective equipment.

Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 2.3% increase):

OP-E G 1/2 or 3 shift engineer/foreman: $66.93 rising 1 step to $68.44

OP-D G1/2 or G3 control room operator: $59.50 rising 1 step to $60.84

OP-C G1/2 or G3 floor operator: $52.75 rising 1 step to $53.94

OP-B entry/new grad: $47.94 rising 1 step to $49.02

Sample rates of hourly pay (current):

OP-A student: $35.18

Lump-sum signing bonus: $1,000 to current employees who were employed prior to ratification of agreement.
