Renewal agreement: Effective Nov. 1, 2018, to Oct. 31, 2021. Signed on Nov. 2, 2018.

Wage adjustments:

Effective Nov. 1, 2018: 1.5%

Effective Nov. 1, 2019: 2%

Effective Nov. 1, 2020: 2%

Shift premium: Time and one-quarter for all work on Saturday. Time and one-half for all work on Sunday.

Paid holidays: 10 days.

Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 10 years, 5 weeks after 20 years, 6 weeks after 25 years.

Meal allowance: $8 for breakfast, $12 for other meals after 14 hours of work.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.

LTD: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.

Pension: Employer contributes 3.5%, employee contributes 3% to pension plan.

Bereavement leave: 3days for death in immediate family (employee’s parents, spouse, children, brothers, sisters, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparents, other family members at discretion of employer).

Seniority – recall rights: 12 months.

Probationary period: 90 working days.

Safety shoes: $200 per year.

Uniforms/clothing: Vehicle operator will be required to wear uniform upon completion of probationary period, as condition of employment. Uniform costs, including boots and winter coveralls, will be provided by employer, maximum $200 per year. Employer will supply 1 coverall or smock, 1 rain suit to each employee every 2 years. 2 pairs of Neoprene gloves will be supplied by employer every year.

Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 4% increase):

Drivers: $17.72 rising 2 steps to $18.44

Sample rates of per-kilometre pay (current, after 4% increase):

Drivers: $0.3287 rising 2 steps to $0.3420

Editor’s notes: Medical examinations: Employees will be paid for actual time lost beccause of taking medical examination and will be reimbursed for any charges or fees connected with such examination. Physical test will be reimbursed, maximum $75. Travel expenses: $50 in meal money to drivers who are away from home terminal overnight unless employer arranges other suitable lodging. On day of return from overnight trip, should employee arrive at home terminal later than 6 a.m., driver will be paid $25 in meal money. Should employee arrive at home terminal later than 2 p.m., driver will be paid $50 in meal money. Cellphones: If driver installs and activates own portable cellphone in company truck, employer will pay $45 for life of agreement. If employee incurs higher bill than $45 for company use, employer will reimburse amount above $45.
