Renewal agreement: Effective Sept. 1, 2019 to March 1, 2023. Ratified on Oct. 16, 2019. Signed on Nov. 20, 2019.
Wage adjustments:
Effective Sept. 1, 2019: 0%
Effective Jan. 1, 2021: 1%
Effective Jan. 1, 2022: 1%
Shift premium: $1.20 per hour for employees required to work scheduled shifts that start between 4 p.m. and 5 am.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% to start, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years.
Overtime: Paid at time and one-half employee’s base hourly rate. Employee will not work more than 1 straight-time shift per 24-hour period; employee will be paid at overtime rate until break of 8 consecutive hours occurs.
Medical benefits: Employers pays $1.60 per hour (previously $1.50 per hour) into Operating Engineers Local 955 Health and Wellness Trust Fund. Effective Jan. 1, 2021: $1.65 per hour.
Pension: Employer pays into pension fund based on groups (group 1: $4.23 per hour rising 3 steps to $4.32 per hour; group 2: $3.89 per hour rising 3 steps to $3.97 per hour; group 3: $3.70 per hour rising 3 steps to $3.77 per hour; group 4: $3.21 per hour rising 3 steps to $3.27 per hour; group 5: $2.61 per hour rising 3 steps to $2.66 per hour)
Bereavement leave: 36 scheduled hours for death in immediate family (mother, father, brother, sister, spouse, common-law partner (regardless of gender), children, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandchildren, grandparents).
Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours’ pay at applicable rate.
Probationary period: 400 hours (employees rehired within 24 months will not be required to serve additional probationary period).
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months.
Mileage: $0.51 per kilometre if employee uses own vehicle at request of employer.

Group 1 (working foreman): $42.27 rising 3 steps to $43.12
Group 2 (senior party chief): $38.89 rising 3 steps to $39.67
Group 3 (junior party chief): $37.01 rising 3 steps to $37.75
Group 4 (senior survey assistant): $32.10 rising 3 steps to $32.75
Group 5 (junior survey assistant): $26.13 rising 3 steps to $26.66
