Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2026. Signed on Sept. 12, 2023.
Wage adjustments:
Effective Jan. 1, 2023: 2.25%
Effective June 15, 2023: 1%
Effective Jan. 1, 2024: 1.75%
Effective Jan. 1, 2025: 2%
Shift premium: Employee will be paid at time and one-half for all hours worked on first shift of changed schedule when employer requires change in scheduled days of work with less than 7 calendar days’ notice. $3.75 per hour (previously $2.75 per hour) for all hours worked between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. $5 per hour (previously $4.50 per hour) for all hours worked between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. $4 per hour (previously $3.25 per hour) for all hours worked between 3 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Monday. $1.75 per hour where employer designates licensed practical nurse to assume responsibility in absence of manager. $1 per hour for licensed practical nurse who acts as preceptor for students in licensed practical nurse program or any specialized practice education or training programs, as recognized by College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta.
Paid holidays: 12 days, including 1 floater holiday.
Vacations with pay: 116.25 hours or 6% after 1 year, 155 hours or 8% after 4 years, 193.75 hours or 10% after 9 years, 232.50 hours or 12% after 16 years. Employee may be permitted to carry forward 2 weeks, plus additional portion if approved, of unused vacation to next year.
Overtime: Time and one-half for work after 7.75 hours per day or 77.5 hours per week. Double time after 2 hours of overtime. Overtime may be accumulated and taken in time off. Time off not scheduled to be taken by March 31 in any given year will be paid out.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 70% of premiums, employee pays 30% of premiums. $750 per year for flexible health spending account.
Dental: Coverage of 80% of basic services, maximum $1,500; 50% for extended services, maximum $1,500.
Sick leave: 11.07 hours per 168 hours of regular hours of work, maximum 930 hours.
Life insurance: Coverage of $25,000.
Pension: Employee who opts into group RRSP will make biweekly contributions of $35, which will be matched on by employer. $45 per week after 5 years of service. $55 per week after 10 years of service.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of spouse, common-law spouse, fiancé, legal guardian, child, parent, spouse’s parent, stepparent, brother, sister, stepbrother, stepsister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, niece, nephew, stepchild, aunt, uncle, grandfather, grandmother, grandchild. Additional 2 days if employee travels more than 300 kilometres 1-way to attend funeral. Employer may extend leave maximum 2 additional days when extenuating circumstances warrant. Employer may grant unpaid leave, maximum 1 day to attend funeral of close friend or relative not listed.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months after layoffs; 24 months from last day of paid sick leave.
Probationary period: 500 hours worked, for each period of continuous employment not interrupted by termination or dismissal (period may be extended by up to additional 500 hours worked).
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months for discipline excluding suspensions; 24 months for discipline involving suspensions.
Severance: 1 week after 3 months; 2 weeks after 1 year; 3 weeks after 2 years, 6 weeks after 4 years, 8 weeks after 6 years, 10 weeks after 8 years.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply protective apparel and equipment (gloves, gowns, masks, protective eyewear, digital equipment).

Admin assistant: $20.62 rising 3 steps to $21.62
Cook: $25.35 rising 3 steps to $26.57
Cook assistant: $20.92 rising 3 steps to $21.93
Food service aide: $16.49 rising 3 steps to $17.29
Housekeeping: $17.04 rising 3 steps to $17.86
HCA/RA: $21.86 rising 3 steps to $22.91
LPN : $28.92 rising 3 steps to $30.32
