Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2018, to March 31, 2022. Signed on April 4, 2019.
Wage adjustments:
Effective April 1, 2018: 2.35%
Effective April 1, 2019: 2.25%
Effective April 1, 2020: 1.25%
Effective April 1, 2021: 1.25%
Paid holidays: 12 days, plus one-half day for Treaty Day.
Vacations with pay: 1 1/4 days per month to start, 1 2/3 days per month after 2 years, 2 1/12 days per month after 7 years, 2 1/2 days per month after 20 years, 3 days per month after 25 years. Employees may not carry over into following year more than 1 year’s vacation credits. Unused credits will be paid out in March of each year. Once per year, vacations will be lengthened by 4 working days when employee travels out of community for vacation travel. Employee who has annual leave between Oct. 1 and March 31 of any year will receive 1 day of extra leave for each 5 consecutive days of annual leave that employee liquidates within above days, maximum 4 days.
Overtime: Time and one-half for first 4 hours worked, double time thereafter. Double time for all work on Sunday or holiday. May be taken as equivalent leave with pay.
Meal allowance: Employer will either provide employee with meal or meal allowance equal to amount of dinner when employee works 3 or more hours of overtime immediately following regularly scheduled hours of duty and employee cannot leave place of work.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.
Sick leave: 1 1/4 days per month. Unused days in excess of 10 days may be converted to leave, maximum 15 days per year.
STD: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.
LTD: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Pension: Employer will match employee contributions, maximum 8%, into plan accessible by employees.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (father, mother, brother, sister, spouse, common-law spouse, child, foster child, adopted child, stepchild, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, aunt, uncle, grandchildren, grandparents, any relative residing in employee’s household).
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months.
Call-in pay: Greater of compensation at appropriate overtime rate or compensation equivalent to 4 hours of pay at straight-time rate. 23 litres of gasoline for each call out during winter (Oct. 1 to March 31); 14 litres of gasoline for each call out during spring and fall (April, May, June, September); 9 litres of gasoline for each call out during summer (July, August).
Probationary period: 6 months from day employee is first appointed; 3 months after employee has been transferred or promoted from within.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 15 months.
Severance: 1 week’s pay for each year of employment, maximum 28 weeks for first layoff; 1 week’s pay for each year of employment, maximum 27 weeks for second and subsequent layoff.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide and pay for all protective devices, clothing, other equipment necessary to protect employees from injury and unhealthy conditions. For maintenance employee, employer will provide 2 pairs of summer coveralls, 2 pairs of winter coveralls, 1 pair of summer safety boots, hard hats, gloves, insulated winter safety boots. Employer will ensure articles are provided in shop for as required: aprons, welding goggles (to be provided as it becomes necessary), dust protection, eye protection, ear protection.

Meals, incidental expenses: For periods of duty travel not exceeding 15 calendar days, employee will be paid $133.85 per diem. For travel for part of day only: $26 for breakfast (previously $22.20); $28.20 for lunch (previously $23.75); $62.35 for dinner (previously $54.10); $17.30 for incidentals. Utility allowance: $300 per month.
