Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2022 to Dec. 31, 2024. Signed on Jan. 6, 2022.

Shift premium: 1 hour of regular pay per vessel for employee designated as dispatcher. $2 per hour for all hours worked until completion of assignment when employees are assigned to perform any tasks, operations on 2 different vessels within same 4-hour period (premium is not accruable during overtime).

Paid holidays: 10 days, including National Truth and Reconciliation Day. Employer will pay employees 9% holiday pay for all jobs worked.

Vacations with pay: Employer will pay employees 9% vacation pay for all jobs worked.

Overtime: Time and one-half for any stevedoring work performed after 8 hours in any day from Monday to Friday. Time and one-half for any stevedoring work on Saturday, Sunday.

Bereavement leave: 4 days for death of spouse, father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter. 1 day for death of father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, stepparents, uncles, aunts, grandchildren.

Seniority – recall rights: 24 months if employee has not worked for employer, unless on approved leave of absence.

Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours of pay.

Probationary period: 20 shifts.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for written warning or adverse report; 24 months for serious offenses.

Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply life jackets, goggles, dust masks in dirty areas, where necessary.

Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after $0.75-per-hour increase):

Stevedore: $28 rising 1 step to $28.75

Editor’s notes: Mooring lines: Minimum 4 hours of pay for employees called in to handle mooring lines (arrival or departure) and to handle supplies (provisions) on vessels.
