Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2020 to Dec. 31, 2023. Ratified on Jan. 27, 2020. Signed on April 1, 2020.
Paid holidays: 12 days.
Vacations with pay: 15 days after 1 year, 20 days after 5 years, 25 days after 10 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week for employees in facility operations department; time and one-half for all work after 7.5 hours per day or 37.5 hours per week, whichever is greater, for employees in housing programs, finance, outreach and homeless and housing development departments. Time may be accumulated, maximum 40 hours at any given time. May be taken as time off.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 66.67% of premiums, employee pays 33.33% of premiums. Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums. Employer will provide health spending account for each employee of $700 per employee (previously $528 per employee) with family coverage, $350 per employee (previously $264 per employee) with single coverage.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Sick leave: 0.0693 hours accumulated for each regular hour worked, maximum 144 hours per year. Unused portion will be accumulated, maximum 960 hours for facility operations employees; 900 hours for housing programs, finance, outreach and homeless and housing development employees.
LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Pension: Employer matches employee contribution, maximum 5.4% of gross monthly earnings, into RRSP. Employee may contribute higher percentage on regular basis or periodically contribute extra flat amount .
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (employee’s family: grandparent, parent, sibling, spouse of sibling, spouse, child, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchild; current spouse’s family: grandparent, parent, sibling). 1 day to act as pallbearer or to attend funeral of close friend or relative not defined. 2 additional days if employee has to travel more than 500 kilometres 1-way to attend funeral.
Seniority – recall rights: 20 months for LTD, adoption, maternity, parental leaves; 12 months for layoffs; 6 months for employee, who is promoted or seconded to position outside scope of union.
Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours of pay at time and one-half.
Probationary period: First 6 months of employment. Any accumulation of 15 or more days of absence from work will be added to 6-month period.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months for any disciplinary notations or warnings in writing.
Severance: 19 weeks of pay after 5 years of service; 22 weeks of pay after 6 years of service.
Safety shoes: $150 per year, maximum $300 over 2 years (previously $100 per year, maximum $300 over 3 years) for facility operations employees.
Tool allowance: $300 per year (previously $225 per year), payable on Jan. 31, for purchase and replacement of basic required hand tools for facility operations lead-hand, all facility operations-specific and facility operations general employees.
Mileage: Alberta government rate for all kilometres driven while on employer business, plus maximum $150 per year for additional insurance to cover business use, based on evidence of coverage and premium. Maximum $420 per year for non-business travel parking expenses.
