Renewal agreement: Effective April 30, 2019, to Aug. 31, 2020. Signed on Feb. 26, 2019.
Shift premium: $300 for each time employee monitors, evaluates more than 42 students at 1 time. $5,144 (previously $4,994) for overload teaching for each course or equivalent taught or receiving future remission in teaching equivalent to extra teaching carried out.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 25 days to start, 30 days after 10 years. May be carried forward to next academic year, maximum 1 year’s entitlement. Maximum 2 year’s vacation leave may be taken in any 1 academic year. Unused leave will be paid out upon retirement.
Sick leave: 60 days per year.
Pension: Memorial University Pension Plan.
Bereavement leave: 10 days for death of near relative, common-law spouse, other live-in partner.
Seniority – recall rights: 3 years.
Probationary period: 1 year for ASMs.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years.
Severance: After 10 years of service, 5 days’ pay per year of service, maximum 100 days, for employees entitled to pay on or before Oct. 1, 2002.

Editor’s notes: Parking: Each employee will be provided with 1 outdoor parking space. Professional development/travel expense fund: Employee will be reimbursed $1,600 per year (previously $800 per year) for expenditures which are related to research and professional development or for subsidizing costs of travel associated with teaching, professional or research interests ($800 for each employee appointed to teaching term). Moving expenses: Employee who is newly appointed or transferred will receive, maximum 1-way economy air fare plus transportation costs to airport, for employee, spouse, children from place of residence prior to appointment or transfer to normal place of employment. Employer will pay, minimum 75% of cost of moving household for employee appointed to tenured or tenure-track appointment or term appointment of 2 years or longer.
