Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2022. Ratified on June 18, 2019. Signed on Dec. 16, 2019.
Wage adjustments:
For existing full-time employees at date of ratification
Effective July 1, 2020: 1%
Effective July 1, 2021: 1%
For full-time employees hired or promoted after date of ratification
Effective July 1, 2021: 1%
Shift premium: $1 per hour for lead-hands. $1.75 per hour for all hours worked between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 18 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day (5-day week) or after 10 hours per day (4-day week) or after 40 hours per week. Time and one-half for all time spent of employer-required training.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.
STD: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums for coverage of 57% of employee’s weekly earnings. Employee will earn one-half day for each 3 months of employment, maximum 3 days banked, as relief days which are to be applied to standard wait period associated with approved STD claims.
LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $1,200 per month.
Life insurance: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums for coverage of $20,000.
Pension: Prairie Teamsters Pension Plan. Employer will contribute $1.25 per hour to start; $1.50 per hour after 12 months of service; $2 per hour after 24 months of service for new full-time employees hired or promoted after date of ratification. Employer will contribute $2.75 per hour (previously $2.50 per hour) for existing full-time employees at date of ratification.
Bereavement leave: 3 days, within 30 days following, for death in family (spouse, adult interdependent partner, mother, stepmother, father, stepfather, children, stepchildren, sisters, brothers, grandmother, grandfather, mother-in-law, father-in-law). 1 additional day for travel for funeral services held more than 300 kilometres from place of work. 3 unpaid days per year when employee attends funeral of extended family member not specifically listed.
Seniority – recall rights: 120 days of layoff or when employee receives leave of absence to take position with employer which is beyond sphere of bargaining unit.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay at regular overtime pay provisions. After completion of duty employee is called for, employee may book off with minimum of 2 hours’ pay at overtime rate, provided there is no further work. Should employee elect to book off earlier than 4 hours, employee will only be paid for hours actually worked foregoing minimum 4 hours’ pay.
Probationary period: 90 calendar days; 280 hours of work in any 56 calendar days for part-time employees who will become full-time employees.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for reprimand letters.
Safety shoes: $100 for safety footwear (must be grade 1, green triangle, CSA-approved footwear).
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide uniforms, coveralls.

18 to 24 months: $23.85 rising 2 steps to $24.33

Less than 1,375 hours: $18.82
More than 1,375 hours: $19.20
More than 2,750 hours: $19.50
Editor’s notes: Industry fund: Employer will contribute $0.05 per hour for each hour worked, maximum 168 hours per month, for each employee, dependent contractor covered by collective agreement to Teamsters union industry advancement fund.
