Renewal agreement: Effective March 31, 2018, to March 31, 2020. Signed on March 31, 2018.
Wage adjustments:
Effective April 1, 2018: 0%
Effective April 1, 2019: 0%
Paid holidays: 9 days.
Vacations with pay: Employees will receive 6% of total regular earnings in lieu of vacation pay.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 7 hours per day or 35 hours per week. May be taken as time off in lieu but request must be made within 72 hours of conclusion of overtime.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.
Sick leave: 2 days for each month of service; 1 day for each month of service for employee hired after May 4, 2004. Maximum 320 days for any consecutive 20-year period of employment; 240 days for employee hired after May 4, 2004.
Pension: Employees will have access to Public Service Pension Plan or Government Money Purchase Plan.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of mother, father, brother, sister, child, spouse, legal guardian, common-law spouse, children of common-law spouse, grandmother, grandfather, grandchild, mother-in-law, father-in-law, stepfather, stepmother, stepbrother, stepsister, near relative living in same household. 1 day for death of son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law. 2 additional days where extraordinary circumstances prevail.
Seniority – recall rights: 24 consecutive months.
Call-in pay: Minimum of 3 hours’ pay at applicable overtime rate provided that period worked is not contiguous to scheduled working hours.
Probationary period: 455 hours.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months.
Severance: Employees are entitled to number obtained by multiplying number of completed years of continuous employment by weekly salary, maximum 20 weeks’ pay.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide lab coats, disposable gloves, wet wipes, antibacterial hand cleaner when necessary.
