Wage adjustments:
Effective May 1, 2019: 2.1%
Effective May 1, 2020: 2.2%
Effective May 1, 2021: 2.4%
Shift premium: $4 per hour ($4.50 for Local 506) for all work performed between 4 p.m. and 6 a.m., Monday to Saturday and between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday to Friday. 10% higher than heavy-equipment operator for demolition foreman. 10% higher than journeyperson for HAZMAT foreman.
Paid holidays: 10 days.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks without pay per year. Employer pays 6% per pay in lieu of paid vacations.
Overtime: Time and one-half for work performed in excess of 9 hours per day, 44 hours per week, or first 8 hours on Saturdays. Double time for work performed beyond 3 hours of overtime (2 for shift work), after 8 hours on Saturdays or all hours on Sundays and statutory holidays.
Medical benefits: Employer-funded Local Unions’ Employee Benefit Trusts.
Pension: Each employer will contribute $0.20 per hour for each hour earned by each employee into Labourers’ Pension Fund of Central and Eastern Canada. Employer will contribute $2 per hour worked to Local 1059 for group RRSP.
Bereavement leave: Local 527: 3 paid days at rate of $150 per day for death of parent, spouse, child, sibling.
Safety shoes: $10 for each calendar month worked.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer provides sanitary protective clothing (asbestos, winter- and wet-weather clothing, including rainsuits, sanitary rubber boots), equipment, safety helmets, non-prescription safety glasses, gloves, PPE where necessary. Employer will supply fire-retardant protective clothing to torch man.
Mileage: $0.55 per kilometre (previously $0.50 per kilometre) for personal use of vehicle for employer’s projects, plus $15 per hour for travel to and from jobsite. Maximum $18 per day will be reimbursed for parking.

Editor’s notes: Room and board allowance: Meal allowance of $60 per day for all locals when employees are required to stay overnight at remote job location. Employees will be provided with clean, adequate, maintained lodging (maximum 2 people per room). Travel allowance: Employees who are required to drive or operate company vehicle to pick up other employees within zone 2 or zone 3 will be paid regular hourly rate for all time spent traveling; $11 per day all other employees working within zone 2; $15 per day all other employees working within zone 3.
